Edwardsville Neighbors in Need

Neighbors In NeedVisionary Managing Director, Chad Opel and his wife, Kathie, founded Edwardsville Neighbors in Need along with their family. It began as a stand-alone fundraiser to benefit the Greg Seibert Foundation after Chad’s stepfather suffered a spinal stroke.

After witnessing the success of the event, and the outpouring of generosity in the community, the Opel family was inspired to form Edwardsville Neighbors in Need to help other families experiencing financial hardship from a medical crisis.

The fundraising events are extremely popular. Taste of Edwardsville, which involves area restaurants and provides an evening of great food and entertainment, is now in its sixth year, and sells out. The other fundraiser is the Turkey Trot, a 5K run on Thanksgiving morning, which not only raises money, but allows the participants to burn all the calories they need to before indulging in their Thanksgiving dinner.
