Scott has over 25 years of experience providing sound financial advice to individuals and families, and forming relationships with their CPAs, attorneys and bankers, as part of his team approach to financial planning. He specializes in retirement and legacy planning for high net worth individuals. He also excels in business planning, helping professionals with the sale of their business and passing assets on to future generations.
Scott began his financial planning career with IDS (An American Express Company) in 1989 after working as a commercial banker for five years with MidAmerica Banks and Citigroup. He was a partner with the Pines Financial Group prior to founding Meridian Financial Group in 1999. He built a large client base for 15 years as a Wealth Advisor before merging with Visionary Wealth Advisors in August 2014. He brought his team, along with the firm’s clients.
Scott has a very loyal following of clients and enjoys establishing long-term, meaningful relationships while seeking to help them build wealth and simplify their financial lives. He is known for providing above and beyond service to his clients, viewing himself as their “Family CFO.”

Scott works in collaboration with brothers Mark Allaria, CFP® and Joe Allaria, CFP® as the CarsonAllaria Group. Both Mark and Joe are experienced Wealth Management Advisors and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals. They have developed a team that will be able to provide financial services to their clients for the next 30 years and beyond – an added value in which those working, nearly retired and retired can find comfort and security. Their team also includes Vicky Dietsch, Director of Client Services.
Scott and his wife Kendra reside in Edwardsville and have two grown children, Bryce and Alison. Kendra is a tax preparer for her father’s firm, Klein Bookkeeping, which has been in business since 1950. Scott and Kendra enjoy road biking, traveling and spending time at their Southern Illinois farm.
