We believe in giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and helping those who are less fortunate. Each of our Visionaries and staff are personally committed to supporting their own charities, and as a company we are committed to giving. We encourage our clients to make philanthropy part of their financial and estate planning. We are eager to grow and expand as a company and are excited that with our growth comes a greater opportunity to give back.
Our Causes
Our Visionaries our passionate about giving back to the community. Many of our causes are founded and led by our Visionary advisors, leaders and teams. We proudly support the following causes.
SWING FORE HOPE
Visionary Founder, Brett Gilliland and his wife, Julie, founded Swing Fore Hope after Julie’s mother, grandmother, and two aunts were all diagnosed with cancer within a seven-month period. Soon after, both Brett’s and Julie’s fathers were also diagnosed with cancer.
Swing Fore Hope raises money for cancer research and to help families through the financial hardship that comes with battling cancer. They help with mortgage payments, medical bills, transportation to and from treatments, medical equipment, Christmas gifts and other needs. Swing Fore Hope is dedicated to impacting & financially assisting local families fighting cancer & contributing to the cutting edge research focused on eradicating this disease.
CASTING FOR HOPE
In 2018 Tim Hammett went on a mission trip to Uganda, Africa. During his time there he fell in love with the children of Uganda. The children’s hearts were filled with joy and optimism! They had a passion for education and a desire to achieve a better life. Upon returning home, Tim and his wife, Ami, decided to establish a non-for-profit charity to support the children of Uganda. A key tenet of their charity is help others who want to help themselves. Casting for Hope is a 501c3 nonprofit organization established in 2018 by Tim and Ami Hammett, committed to helping financially challenged children and young adults of Uganda receive a University level education.
HELP HONDURAS
Visionary Scott Vieregge is the leader of Help Honduras.org. Help Honduras is dedicated to changing the landscape of northeastern Honduras. The epicenter for this transformation begins with the village of Agua Blanca. It is our belief that God wants to take this region from merely surviving to a state of abundance and thriving. We believe that God will create an innumerable amount of opportunities and will be a magnet for this area in order to catapult northeastern Honduras to a thriving, Christ-focused region.
Joshua Chamberlain Society
With the help of generous donors, JCS “adopts” severely wounded veterans — those who have suffered traumatic brain injuries, lost a limb or multiple limbs, or both — as well as the families of those service members who sacrificed their lives in service to our country. JCS provides real, tangible support for these individuals and families not only in the present, but also five, ten, twenty or more years down the line. Years from now, they will still feel the support of a community grateful for their sacrifices.
THE CROHN’S & COLITIS FOUNDATION
The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation is a non-profit, volunteer-fueled organization dedicated to finding cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and improving the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. They have invested more than $384 million into finding the causes, treatments, and cures for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
THE TENTH MAN
The path to suicide starts with suicide ideation which then develops into a plan followed by an attempt. The mission of The Tenth Man is to challenge the reasoning of those who have started to go down the path of thinking that suicide is their only solution.
SIGNATURE HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION
Visionary Partner and Senior Wealth Management Advisor, Elizabeth Connelly, JD, CTFA, CISP, proudly serves as the Board President for the Signature Healthcare Foundation. Signature Healthcare Foundation’s mission is to utilize physician leadership to improve the quality, efficiency and affordability of healthcare. The organization hosts many fundraising events, including the annual Dragon Boat Racing festival each year.
CROWN CENTER FOR SENIOR LIVING
Sr. Wealth Management Advisor, Sheldon Harber, CFP®, CSA® serves on the Board of Directors of Crown Center for Senior Living. He has been an active volunteer in this capacity for over a decade, and his professional expertise is invaluable as a member of the agency’s Finance Committee. Crown Center is a non-profit organization providing affordable, high quality housing and support services to older adults- regardless of their financial circumstances. Located in University City, Crown is home to over 200 seniors with very low incomes, and is also a community center where top notch programs and services are available to residents and non-residents alike. We strive to help older people remain living independently and stay active by providing fresh meals, transportation, arts, cultural, fitness, and social work services.
BREE’S GIFT
Bree’s Gift is a charity close to Crystal Zeller, Director of Client Service for Tim Hammett’s, heart. Crystal’s cousin Jennie and her husband founded Bree’s Gift in memory of their daughter who was only four years old when she went to heaven due to a tragic accident. Their mission is to turn hope into reality for families seeking adoption.
